From her website:
Noëlle Smith, was born in Phoenix (1972), grew up in a small town near the sea. She studied at the Lyceum in Amsterdam and graphically found its way into the books at the school for the Arts in Utrecht. After the completion of the study direction illustrative shape the HKU, started as a free lance Illustrator. In the meantime, there are already numerous books published on several publishers and her books translated into ten languages. Inspiration sources include; Tove Hansen, Dr Seuss, David Hockney, Mary Quant, Michael Gondry, Baz Luhrmann, West Anderson.

Noëlle lives in Amsterdam with her friend, and their two cats Roxy and Spetter. In its workshop in the back yard, she creates her drawings and on fine days at the kitchen table on the terrace (the Golden rain. To think they splash in its ugly duckling ' back to the coast.
