Yesterday I received a review copy of The Highlights Book of Things to Do. Highlights is famous for explaining the world in a manageable, comforting way, and this book is no exception.
It's is a hefty 384-page collection of practical information (like measurements and conversion tables), relationship advice (how to make up with a friend), recipes, and surprising things you can make (like a battery out of a lemon). The illustrations are delightful. I love Jannie Ho’s lesson on how to draw comics.
Small, creative activities can make us happy and inspire us in profound ways. My advice? Leave this book on the coffee table, available for needed inspiration.
