Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow, is a writer and educator who centers Black and Muslim children in her work. As a committed anti-racist educator, she has written and helped develop anti-racism curricula for children. Her first children's book, Mommy's Khimar, was rated a Notable or Best Book of 2018 by several organizations including NPR, Kirkus Review, and the American Library Association. In addition to writing, she provides free, fun, and innovative community writing programs for local youth in Philadelphia where she lives.
