I read that too, on boingboing and in the NYT, and I am SOOO happy to hear it from an obviously supportive and thoughtful mom.
I love that she follows it up with something about how she doesn't need to stretch her potential for personal growth by testing their washability claims!
(But I'll bet when Alexander and his brothers were little boys she had no such restriction. It is very hard to deny a 6 year old any artistic medium he might wish to explore.)
