A new animated film has just been released (in French) this month about two of my favourite characters in children's literature, Ernest & Celestine, the creations of Gabrielle Vincent, 1928-2000, Belgian author and illustrator extraordinaire. Below, her beautiful and ever-so-gentle drawings...

Lovely drawings. Gabrielle Vincent also made an extraordinary wordless (and devastating) picture book called A DAY, A DOG.
I love Ernest and Celestine and have several of the books. The illustrations (and stories) are so sweet!
